Milestones in Dysfunction, Part 3: The Rise of False Career Currency

Description

Career currency is defined as “anything of value you hold that gives you leverage, options, or credibility in the job market.” In the earlier years of UX, a viable and measurable set of criteria made up the discipline’s currency. As UX maturity has waned, so also has the things that pass for currency. In this episode, Dr. Darren identifies the different types of UX career currency, how they connect to changes in UX maturity, and what you can do to optimize your personal value proposition.
